Photography Studio : Session 1
Fortunately my A-level in Photography meant this class was a valuable refresher, it was also useful for learning the boundaries of the studio as well as the equipment available.
Concluding this workshop, I feel more confident in utilising the equipment in the photography studio. I have since done some research into different camera settings that will help me to emphasise aspects of my models, for instance bringing the camera’s focus to the foreground and lowering the depth of field with a slower shutter speed. This will cause the background to be blurred thereby placing more focus on the model. I also found the clam-shell lighting technique to be effective in removing unnecessary shadows that detract from the model. I utilised ‘Todd Blankens’ lighting for reflections setup, which was really useful for photographing props.
